Chris E. Malone, MD, FACS
Dr. Chris Malone attended medical school at the University of Texas, Houston graduating in 1981. He completed his general surgery residency at UT, Houston in 1986, and his cardiovascular and thoracic surgery residencies and fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in 1989.
Dr. Malone is well known in Athens, having practiced in the area as a vascular, cardiac and thoracic surgeon since 1994. Additionally, he served as Chief of Surgery at Athens Regional Medical Center from 1998 to 2002. Since 2005 Dr. Malone has been involved in the development and management of two vein clinics. Additionally Dr. Malone continues to practice general thoracic surgery with Athens Vein & Thoracic Specialists and St. Mary’s Health Care System. Since 2011 Dr. Malone has served as Clinical Faculty for Georgia Regents University – The University of Georgia Medical Partnership.
Dr. Malone and Dr. Jane Parks, Pulmonologist, of Athens Pulmonary initiated The Chest Center at Athens Regional Medical Center which offers a patient-centered, multi-disciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.
